How TruePane Windows & Doors Came to Miami

Dale Kessler has been around windows long enough to know when a job is heading sideways before the caulk gun even comes out. Back in 2008, when TruePane split off from the general contracting outfit where it started, the reason was almost embarrassingly simple. Windows were the part of every single job that got argued about later. The homeowner would stand in the living room, run a hand along the new frame, and ask why the sash bound up when the afternoon sun hit it. The answer was almost always the same: somebody had rushed the rough opening, fudged the shims, or ordered glass that didn’t match what the wall actually needed.

That argument happened too many times. Dale watched too many homeowners get handed a warranty that, when you actually read it, covered neither the fogged seal nor the labor to pull the sash and fix it. So the decision was made. TruePane would exist for one reason only: to install windows and doors that never became an argument. When the brand came to Miami, that same promise came with it. Miami is a hard place for windows. Salt air off Biscayne Bay eats at cheap flashings. Afternoon thunderstorms hammer west-facing glass in Kendall and Doral. A window that’s even slightly out of true in this climate doesn’t just bind – it leaks, it whistles, and it fails in ways you won’t see until the drywall stains. Our Miami branch was built around that reality. We bring the brand’s standards to a city that punishes shortcuts.

Dale Kessler’s Personal Connection to the Windows and Doors Trade

Dale Kessler grew up around a level. His father was a glazier, the kind who carried his tools in the truck door and a pencil behind his ear, and from the time Dale was old enough to hold the dumb end of a tape measure, he was on jobsites. He remembers the smell of fresh glazing compound, the way it clings to your fingers for hours after the work is done. He remembers the particular sound of a square tapping against a shim – a small, hollow knock that means the piece is settled. For over a decade in this trade, those details have never faded for him.

What Dale learned early is that windows are the only part of a house you can see through and feel at the same time. A door has to swing true or the latch misses. A window has to be bedded right or the first hard rain finds its way in. The work rewards patience. You can’t muscle a frame into square. You have to think it there. Dale will tell you he’s not the fastest installer, and he’s fine with that. He’s the one who measures the opening twice, who rolls the paper out and shows the homeowner the two manufacturer lines side by side before a single screw goes in. That’s what gets him out of bed in the morning: the knowledge that somewhere in Miami today, a homeowner is standing by a window he put in, and it doesn’t bind, doesn’t fog, doesn’t leak. If he weren’t doing this, he’d probably be teaching it. He still keeps a level in the truck door. Some habits never leave you.

Meet Dale Kessler - The Person Behind Every Job

Dale Kessler is the Owner & Founder of TruePane Windows & Doors. He is a second-generation glazier who has spent more than a decade learning the craft from the ground up – not from a manual, but from the tradesmen who worked alongside him. His training comes from the old school: standing at a table saw, cutting stops to exact length, watching a journeyman locate a stud through plaster with nothing but a magnet and patience. He carries the credentials required to operate in Florida, and he expects the same from every pro who works under the TruePane name.

What separates Dale from the corporate franchise technician is simple. He knows what a subtropical afternoon does to a cheap vinyl weld. He knows which brands hold up in Miami’s humidity and which ones don’t. He works every job as if his own mother is going to run her hand along the sill when he’s done. There’s a personal detail that tells you who he is: Dale still uses the same tape measure his father gave him, the one with the worn lettering and the blade that doesn’t retract quite all the way. He could replace it. He chooses not to. It reminds him every day what a square deal means.

Our Promise to Miami Homeowners

We run this branch on a set of values we call K.E.Y.S., and they’re not wall art. They’re how we work.

  • Krafted right: trained journeymen, proper materials, no shortcuts. We’d rather lose a bid than cut a corner.
  • Every time: the job we do today gets the same care as the job we’ll do next year. There’s no slacking off once the sign is out front.
  • Your home first: we work in your house the way we’d work in our mother’s. Shoe covers on, drop cloths down, and the job site clean before we leave.
  • Standing behind it: if it’s not right, we come back. No paperwork, no arguing.

That last one isn’t a slogan. It’s the Keystone Standard, and it applies to every window and door we touch in Miami. Both warranty layers in writing, durations stated, 90 days on our workmanship. If something’s wrong, you won’t have to fight us to come back.

Our Credentials

  • State-licensed: every pro working under the TruePane name in Florida is required to hold the license their state demands.
  • Insured & bonded: every pro working under our name is required to carry the insurance and bonding their state requires.
  • Local experience: Dale Kessler has worked in this trade for more than a decade, and the Miami branch carries that lived experience into every job.
  • Strong local reputation: homeowners across Miami, Hialeah, and Kendall have trusted our work, and we’ve earned that trust one square opening at a time.

Why does that matter to you? Because the person working inside your home should be accountable to more than a company phone number. When someone is licensed and insured, it means they’ve met a legal standard. When they’ve been doing it for years in your city, it means they’ve seen what Miami’s climate actually does. Both of those things protect you.

Rooted in Miami

Miami isn’t just a service area on a map. It’s a place where the tropical rains off the Atlantic meet the heat of the inland suburbs, and every neighborhood has its own architecture and its own way of fighting the sun. From the mid-century homes in North Miami to the waterfront properties in Cutler Bay, we’ve learned what works in each pocket of this city. A Coral Gables bungalow and a Doral stucco house need different glass, different flashings, different everything. That’s what it means to be rooted here. You answer the phone with a person who knows your neighborhood, not someone reading a script from three states away.
